George Hospital
Children's Ward visits​
​Help Our Pre-schoolers has wonderful volunteers who visit and play with the children in long term care at the George Regional Hospital. These kiddies enjoy getting out of bed to spend some time just being kids while we love spending time with them.
Milestones, Developmental Pre-school, Bethesda​​
Every Tuesday, along with George Methodist Children's Church, we spend time at Milestones Pre-school. The children here have developmental delays due to medical conditions or long hospital stays. We give them a theme based lesson to encourage further educational development. These lessons include discussions, music, movement, arts and crafts and extra hugs and cuddles. We might enjoy these lessons more than the kids do!
Homework help
​​On Thursdays, I head to a lovely, little foster-care home and help the kiddies with homework.
We make sure to spoil them on birthdays and special days with gifts and cards too.
Resources
​​We drop off colouring in resources and magazines at the waiting area of the George Hospital Pharmacy every Friday. We drop off worksheets and colouring in resources every couple of weeks at the George Library. We supply educational resources to creches and pre-schools each term. We facilitate donations reaching the right little hands when receiving them.
Collaboration
​​HOP partners with various organisations and non profits. From collecting food parcels, supporting creche renovations, donations, running workshops, offering advice, doing visits, checking in -
all is done in the name of helping
pre-schoolers.

Workshops​​
A couple of times a year, HOP joins hands with another local non profit. We run workshops encouraging young moms to support the development of their little ones. We've covered topics like 'reading to your child' or 'the value of play.'
